E! Online is reporting some big news for “Anchorman” fans: There will be a sequel, and Will Ferrell, Steve Carell and Paul Rudd have all signed on to be a part of it. While the movie will have a different title than the standard “Anchorman 2,” Ron Burgundy and his two Action4 News partners in crime will remain the same.

Though it was down 7% from last year (thanks March Madness), it was another impressive showing at the box office this weekend, mostly due to the mix of Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum’s popularity and hugely positive reviews for “21 Jump Street,” which took the top spot with $35 million. Comedian Will Ferrell capably performed his duty as celebrity grand marshal of the Carnival celebrations in New Orleans, kicking off the festivities with aplomb. Mardi Gras begins today, and the city named Ferrell the King of the Bacchus Parade.

Lionsgate, Pantelion Films, Gary Sanchez and Nala Films are releasing the new Will Ferrell comedy “Casa de mi Padre” – a Spanish language film from the non-Spanish-speaking people behind “Anchorman,” written by Funny or Die creative head Andrew Steele and directed by long-time SNL writer Matt Piedmont.
Will Ferrell plays Armando Alvarez, his brother is portrayed by Diego Luna, and their nemesis, La Onza, by Gael Garcia Bernal. The film is a mosh-pit of hilarity stemming from the satirical manner in which the entire project was approached, part telenovela soap opera, part classic western (painted sets and all).
