While we’re in awards season spotting a new trend is about as difficult as finding a new celebrity baby name to mock and I’m basking in its glory like a kid in a candy store.
Celebs brought out their finest for the People’s Choice Awards, the Critic’s Choice Awards and the Art of Elysium Gala. We’ve seen several trends emerge, but the one that really stood out from the pack is bold, monochromatic frocks. From stark blacks and whites to saturated candy colors, our favorite red-carpet figures made their marks in daring solid sheaths.

Viola Davis has a fascinating feature in Los Angeles Times Magazine in which the actress talked her lifelong love of acting, character preference and desire to mentor young people.
“Human life is about a culmination of moments, and 99 percent of those are quiet but powerful,” said Davis when asked about her preference of underrated characters.

The big winners at last night’s SAG Awards were “The Help,” “The Artist,” “Boardwalk Empire,” “Modern Family” and the guild itself, affirming that both of the largest acting unions, SAG and AFTRA, had cleared the path for a merger to an organization that would work for all actors.
While many, including us, were hoping that the SAG Awards, voted on by the acting guild, the largest group of voters of the Academy, would give some clearer indication of whether Meryl Streep or Michelle Williams would take home the Best Actress Oscar next month, the win by Viola Davis in that
