Gwyneth Paltrow, “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane and designer Jason Wu have signed on for a late-night USA special called “Out of Character with Krista Smith.” The Jan. 11 special’s segments will show viewers a different side of the celebrities’ lives alongside Smith, who is the West Coast editor of Vanity Fair.
Paltrow will focus on family recipes from her cookbook in her portion of the USA special. Wu will give the camera a tour of his studio in Manhattan. And MacFarlane will talk about music and science.

“Family Guy” mastermind (and perennial Comedy Central roastmaster) Seth MacFarlane is working on a brand-new animated series for an adults with a female lead. Guess who is voicing the show’s main character? Alex Borstein, who currently voices Lois Griffin.
“I think that the last female-centered animated show that I can remember was Daria,” said Borstein. “We’re kind of raring to go and just waiting to get the green light to start setting up and writing, so it’s very exciting!”
Gary Janetti, a former executive producer on “Will and Grace,” will produce the show alongside MacFarlane and Borstein.
