Oprah Winfrey is honoring the late Whitney Houston‘s legacy by rebroadcasting the two-hour special the two filmed in 2009. The lengthy interview contains frank admissions of Houston’s drug use; Winfrey will also add her memories with the legendary entertainer.
The Houston special will celebrate “the magic of a musical icon who has gone too soon,” said OWN. It’s set to air on Thursday at 9 p.m. Eastern.

What’s next for Oprah Winfrey after 25 years of “The Oprah Winfrey Show”? “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” obviously. The OWN series will show Winfrey conducting field interviews with celebrities and other key cultural figures.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will award media mogul Oprah Winfrey with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at its third-annual Governors Awards ceremony. Traditionally, the award goes to those in the motion picture industry — Paul Newman, Elizabeth Taylor and Jerry Lewis are among its previous recipients — which has caused a bit of controversy since Winfrey has spent most of her career on television.
