Keira Knightley, Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender Behind the Scenes Interviews for ‘A Dangerous Method’

21, 2011 8:00am

Being released this week on November 23, 2011, “A Dangerous Method” is based on the play “The Talking Cure” by Oscar-winning screenwriter Christopher Hampton.

The play and film hypothesize on the relationship between the fathers of modern psychotherapy, Carl Jung (portrayed by “X-Men: First Class” and “Shame” starMichael Fassbender) and Sigmund Freud (portrayed by “Lord of the Rings” and “History of Violence” starViggo Mortensen).

It is known that both shrinks treated a patient by the name of Sabine Spielrein (portrayed here by Keira Knightley), and David Cronenberg uses the actress in some fairly enlightening ways.

Thanks to Sony Pictures Classics for these longer-form video interviews offering behind the scenes information on the film.

The Complete “My Week With Marilyn” Interviews: Michelle Williams, Emma Watson, Judi Dench, Kenneth Branagh, Dominic Cooper and Eddie Redmayne

18, 2011 9:30am

Director Simon Curtis has assembled an enviable list of talent, including likely Oscar nominee Michelle Williams, and the best of the British isles: Sir Kenneth Branagh, Harry Potter’s Hermione Granger Emma Watson, Dame Judie Dench, Dominic Cooper and Burberry model/actor Eddie Redmayne.

Taken from Colin Clark’s diaries, there is no doubt that much of the world has at one time or another been obsessed with, or at least captivated by, the stories that surround the most explosive of blonde bombshells, Marilyn Monroe.

Here are the official interviews:

Celebs.com’s Sound-Off: Black Keys, Drake & Duran Duran

17, 2011 1:00pm

As the year winds down some of the most anticipated albums and singles are readying for release for the Christmas shopping season.  And who couldn’t use some new music to get them through the treachery of standing in line next to drones of people all looking to get a deal.  And between new released from the Black Keys, Drake & Duran Duran, Celebs.com’s Sabrina Cognata sounds off on 1 SINGLE, 1 ALBUM and 1 MUSIC VIDEO to help you find just what you’re looking for before you waste time going to the “store.”

Single: “Lonely Boy” by Black Keys

Leave it to the rock ‘n roll darlings Black Keys to churn out another broken hearted themed song about a terrible ex.  In fact, we’re getting to the point that the Patrick & Dan might have to get new women for each album just so they can have fresh material.

“Lonely Boy” will steadily rise in the charts, giving way to the release of their seventh studio album El Camino.  While the lyrics are snarky and downright mean at times, “Well your mama kept you, but your daddy left you/And I should have done you just the same,” breakup songs are what the Black Keys churn out best.

Even if the lyrics turn you off, and let’s face it, everyone has an ex they cannot stand, so we’ve all been there, you can get down with the song’s punchy beat.  So just shake whatcha mama gave you, unless it’s in the face of an ex, cause the Black Keys might look down on you for that.

Album: Take Care by Drake

Drake’s sophomore effort, Take Care has been getting a lot of mixed reviews but this mix tape is really about Drake flexing his hip hop muscle for his fans.  There’s obviously a lot of time and effort put into this album, but I’m just not sure it’s everything Drake could offer and then some.

Clearly, this is a pet project, as Drake turns to the people closest to him to collaborate with and feature on Take Care, including Rihanna, The Weekend, Birdman & Nicki Minaj.

However, the lead single “Headlines” pretty much tells you everything you need to know about Take Care.  Drake’s back, he’s got something to prove and none of it has to do with putting down other rappers.  I guess we’ll see how his audience feels about that when album sales are released next week.

Music Video: “Girl Panic” by Duran Duran

In what would otherwise be a fairly boring song and music video, Duran Duran goes back to their old tricks having ‘90s super models Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova and Helena Christensen portraying the perspective members of Duran Duran.

Although I am not a huge fan of the song, the video lends itself to needing to be watched from the first shot down the final scene. And, as we know, rock stars and super models go hand-in-hand, and in this case they are one and the same.

The video was shot and directed by Jonas Åkerlund who’s currently best known for directing Lady Gaga’s most well known music videos including “Telephone” & “Paparazzi.”

Celebs.com Original Interviews: Antonio Banderas, star of Pedro Almodovar’s ‘The Skin I Live In’

17, 2011 11:30am

In Pedro Almodovar’s latest film (now playing in theaters), “The Skin I Live In,” a plastic surgeon (Antonio Banderas) tests the scientific aspects of playing God after creating a type of synthetic skin that will withstand damage.

It’s been more than twenty years since Banderas teamed with the director on “Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!” “The Skin I Live In” is the sixth film the two have worked on together.

Nominated for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival this year, it’s considered likely that the film will pick up a slew of nominations for best foreign or best foreign language film of the year.

Celebs.com’s own Angela Bakke sat down with the film’s co-stars. Check out the video! …Read More
