The world’s best/most successful/most famous/most significant performance artist Marina Abramovic, and Matthew Akers, director of the documentary “Marina Abramovic: The Artist is Present,” chatted with Celebs.com’s Elliot Kotek at the Celebs.com Studio at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.

The film chronicles the lead-up to Abramovic’s major retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the institution’s first such exhibition for a performance artist.

Later that night, Abramovic hosted a “silent party” at Sundance – undoubtedly another first. The rumor is that Robert Redford said it was the best Sundance party he’d ever attended. …Read More

Legendary Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera gives an incredibly raw performance in this film, Lou Diamond Phillips re-unites with his “Stand & Deliver” compatriot Edward James Olmos, and Gina Rodriguez is a breakthrough revelation as Filly Brown.

Tom Colicchio (Chef/Restaurateur/Star of “Top Chef”) appears in and executive-produced the documentary film “Finding North” by co-directors Lori Silverbush and Kristi Jacobson. The team behind the film stopped by the Celebs.com Studio at Sundance the morning after their world premiere in Park City.

“Finding North” tackles the issue of food insecurity in the US, bringing awareness to the fact that, for 1 in 6 people in this country, putting a meal on the table is a challenge. That food should be a human right, a basic necessity, in a country as wealthy as the U.S. is a given, but the government needs to be reminded of their responsibilities.

Oscar-nominated actors William H. Macy (“Fargo,” “Shameless”) and John Hawkes (“Winter’s Bone,” “Deadwood”) stopped into the Celebs.com Studio at Sundance to talk about their film “The Surrogate,” a film already getting acclaim and already being talked about for the Best Actor race for John Hawkes for 2013!

This real-life story of Mark O’Brien, trapped in an iron lung with the ability to move just three muscles, engages a surrogate to help him lose his virginity before he dies.

Also starring Helen Hunt, Moon Bloodgood and Rhea Perlman, the film was bought by indie superstar outfit Fox Searchlight, so will definitely be coming to screens in 2012.
