CinemaCon is on in Vegas, serving up some big stars to get fans and theater owners excited about what’s coming up in the upcoming months… while Brad Pitt opened proceedings with a brief intro to World War Z, declaring the project one he did for his boys to see, the team behind Star Trek Into Darkness made their presence felt, taking to the red carpet with big guns blazing, check out the chats with the film’s Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine, Alice Eve and John Cho

Filly Brown opens this week – starring Lou Diamond Phillips and Edward James Olmos on screen together for the first time since Stand and Deliver, the film also introduces Gina Rodriguez as all sorts of awesome and Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera in her only big-screen performance before she was killed, tragically, in a plane crash, back in March.

Evil Dead screamed through the box office at the weekend, and its team, including Evil Dead O.G. Bruce Campbell, were on hand at Wondercon to talk the film up, check out some of what they had to say……

JUG FACE Finding Its Way to Fright Fans (Awesome Sean Young Pics!) – a Original Interview

Blade Runner‘s” Sean Young stars in “Jug Face” alongside Sean Bridgers (“Deadwood“), Lauren Ashley Carter (“The Woman“) and Daniel Manche (Jack Ketchum’s “The Girl Next Door“). The screenplay won Slamdance’s screenplay competition in 2011 and writer/director Chad Crawford Kinkle managed to find Andrew Van Den Houten to produce the film as his first feature effort with some remarkable names.

Now, fans will have an opportunity to see the flick, with it being slated for a release in July 2013 on VOD via Gravitas Ventures, followed by a national roll out to theaters. The team behind the film came by the Beyond Cinema Studio presented by for an exclusive interview with editor Elliot V. Kotek, and some cool portraits by photographer Scott McDermott.

Here’s the official word:

Ada, her family and a small isolated backwoods community worship a mysterious pit.  The pit has the power to heal and protect all who honor it but at a deadly price…it demands an occasional sacrifice.  The pit communicates through the local potter who, while in a trance, crafts ceramic jugs that carry the face of a person to be sacrificed to the entity that lives within it.  Ada has a secret about the latest jug face that she’s determined to keep hidden but the pit demands a sacrifice and unleashes an evil onto the community until it gets who it really wants. 

Tequan Richmond & Isaiah Washington’s “Blue Caprice” Opens New Directors New Films in NYC

Isaiah Washington (as John Allen Muhammad) and Tequan Richmond (as Lee Boyd Malvo) star alongside Tim Blake Nelson and Joey Lauren Adams in “Blue Caprice” by Alexandre Moors. Capturing the moments leading up to the Beltway sniper attacks in D.C. the film opened New Directors New Films at the Lincoln Center in New York last night.
