Shia LaBeouf is set to present his short film “Howard Cantour.com” during Critics Week at Cannes 2012. The flick is LaBeouf’s offbeat commentary on film critics, and is scheduled to have a special screening on May 18.
LaBeouf won’t just be at Cannes for “Howard Cantour.com,” though. “Lawless,” the John Hillcoat movie in which LaBeouf stars, will screen in official competition, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ethan Hawke was on hand to help kick off the Riviera Maya Film Festival at XCaret last night, and had this to say about indie film and spring breakers.
Pictured at left with the festival’s director Paula Chaurand, the festival began March 20 with Hawke and ends with a presentation of “Intruders” on March 25, for which actor Clive Owen will be in attendance. Between the handsome bookends, the fest will present about 80 films up and down the Riviera Maya, at venues in Playa Del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel and Cancun.
