Cannes Film Festival Jury member Diane Kruger faces the photographers' gallery at Cannes in the rain today ahead of the screening of Michael Haneke's "Amour" (the new leader in bookies' bettings for the race to the coveted Palme d'Or).
Also on hand on the wet carpet were Gael Garcia Bernal, Canadian director David Cronenberg (who has the Robert Pattinson-starrer "Cosmopolis" in the festival) and the much loved and much maligned Roman Polanski, a documentary about whom is also screening at the festival.

Tom Hardy and Shia Labeouf went bristle for bristle alongside everywhere newcomer Jessica Chastain at the premiere of the new film by director John Hillcoat (The Proposition, The Road). Adapted for the big screen by music sensation Nick Cave, P. Diddy turned up to support the film's moment on the Cannes red carpet, as did "The Artist's" Berenice Bejo and many other talented thesps.

Before partying the night away at a private Calvin Klein event, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jessica Chastain, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith took to the Cannes press corps to promote "Madagascar 3," which is showing as part of the Cannes Film Festival program.
While "Madagascar 3" obviously isn't in competition against the (much more) gritty festival films, the crowd lapped up the all-star power of the voice talent team. Ironically, in most theaters in France, the voices heard behind the penguins and lions will be these Hollywood heavyweights' French voice dubbers.
