Zooey Deschanel has the May 2012 cover of Marie Claire, and in her accompanying interview, the “New Girl” actress divulged on her love life (or the lack thereof) and her desire to have children (ditto).
When asked whether she’s dating, Deschanel said, “Honestly, I’m just going through a divorce, so I don’t really think that’s something I want to get into now. I don’t have time to date. I literally — don’t-have-time.”
Don’t hold your breath waiting for Deschanel to announce a pregnancy, either. “That’s never been my focus,” she said of having children. “I like kids, and I like being around kids, but it was never an ambition, something, like, I need. I like working. That’s what I like doing. I like to work.”

Jessica Chastain channels her inner retro bombshell for Vogue Italia. The “Tree of Life” actress was captured by photographer Michelangelo di Battista in vintage-inspired fashion from the likes of Dolce & Gabbana, Marc Jacobs, Prada and Blumarine.
Chastain acknowledged that retro movie icons have been a source of inspiration. “For me, Hollywood glamour identifies with my favorite actresses, Greer Garson, Clara Bow and Greta Garbo, allure, mustery, sensuality,” she mused.
We’ll next see Jessica Chastain on the big screen in “Tar,” “Mama,” “The Wettest County” and “Zero Dark Thirty”; she’s also voiced a character on the upcoming “Madgascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.” Check out more photos from her Vogue Italia editorial to tide you over until then.
Penelope Cruz is smoldering perfection on the May 2012 cover of Harper’s Bazaar. The actress, who has sizzled in films such as “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” and “Blow,” talks about her family life and working with Hollywood legend Woody Allen in her interview with the magazine.
“I love being around Woody,” she said. “Watching him direct, and sometimes he falls asleep while they are lighting the next shot. I take pictures of him because he picks the strangest positions. I always think he is going to fall off his chair.”
Cruz also discussed her future acting plans with Harper’s Bazaar. “Maybe I’ll make one movie a year, maybe two, but it’s not going to be more than that because I have other priorities now,” she explained.
Check out the rest of Penelope Cruz’s editorial, which was captured by Terry Richardson, below.
Rihanna sports a grunge-glam look on the cover of the Elle May 2012 issue. The singer, whose acting debut is in May, discusses her split with Chris Brown and the possibility of having children in her interview with the magazine.
“It gave me guns,” she admitted. “I was like, well, f*ck. They know more about me than I want them to know. It’s embarrassing. But that was my opening. That was my liberation, my moment of ‘bring it.’ Now you know that, so you can say what you want about it. I don’t have anything to hide.”
It’s no surprise that Rihanna compares her breakup to Brown as a liberation and giving her “guns,” as she was spotted getting a gun inked on her shoulder shortly after the public split. Check out the rest of Rihanna’s Elle editorial below.
Charlize Theron wows on the cover of the Vogue UK May 2012 issue. The star, who recently went public with her adoption of baby Jackson, talks about her new role as a mother in the accompanying interview.
The Oscar-winning actress admitted that when it comes to raising little Jackson, she hopes to emulate the leading lady in her own life. “[I want] to be like my mom,” she said. “Fair, tough, loving and supportive. My mom has made it possible for me to be who I am. Our family is everything. Her greatest skill was encouraging me to find my own person and own independence.”
Charlize Theron is perfect for the role. To see more images from her Vogue UK photo shoot with Patrick Demarchelier, check out the gallery below.
Katy Perry rocks a blue-hued pompadour and rolls in the hay for her editorial in the Teen Vogue May 2012 issue. The recently separated singer revealed in the accompanying interview that she’s become disgusted with her fame.
“I’m tired of being famous already! But I’m not tired of creating. Fame is, I think, just a disgusting byproduct of what I do,” she said. “It’s quite a delicate creature — it’s a wild animal of sorts. It can love you, and then it can attack you.”
It’s no surprise that Perry dislikes the fame: The singer’s wedding to Russell Brand was notorious for its high security and paparazzi-free atmosphere. For more of Katy Perry’s Teen Vogue shoot, check out the slideshow.
