Zooey Deschanel, Joel McHale and Rachel Dratch have all signed on as hosts of the Writers Guild of America awards shows. The WGA West and WGA East awards will both be held on Sunday, Feb. 19; Deschanel and McHale will host the WGAW awards from Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium, while Dratch will host the WGAE awards from the B.B. King Blues Club in New York City.
“I’m deeply excited to cohost the WGA Awards with Zooey Deschanel,” said McHale in a playful public statement. “She has that rare combination in that she’s beautiful, funny and smells good. Without writers, movies and TV would be worse than untreated syphilis, so I’m thrilled to hand these fine people awards for their great work.”
Deschanel’s statement was more subdued; the “New Girl” actress indicated that she was “excited” to host, adding, “It should be a lot of fun!”
