Oscar winning actor and director Sean Penn and that one guy who was in the Fugees once Wyclef Jean are in a fight. It seems that their epic battle is an unending argument over which of them is the #1 nice guy who helps Haiti the most. Haitian national Wyclef is trying unsuccessfully to become president of the island, while Penn is actually down there doing work via his J/P Haitian Relief Organization. Sean recently questioned Wyclef’s motives, and the musician is firing back with the same insult haters use for Lindsay Lohan. This weekend, he performed at a Hot 97 concert and changed the lyrics to one of his songs to say:
“I got a message for Sean Penn: Maybe he ain’t see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine.”
Penn’s people then released this statement:
“Mr. Jean is clearly unfamiliar with the physical demands put upon volunteers in Haiti. As aid workers there, the notion of depleting the body’s immune system thru the use of illicit drugs is ludicrous. More specifically, J/P Haitian Relief Organization (a.k.a. JPHRO) has a ZERO tolerance policy for any and all illegal drugs. As the leader of this organization, Sean Penn has not only set this policy, but adheres to it. That Mr. Jean would make such a false accusation is reckless and saddening, but not surprising.”
Wyclef has not yet responded. Presumably he’s busy cooking up another devastating diss. But where do you go from “you’re on DRUGS!!!”? Incriminating accusations of booger-eating, I’d guess.
