File this under the “morbid celebrity auction of the day” category: Julien’s Auctions is putting items from 100 North Carolwood Drive up for sale, including Michael Jackson‘s deathbed and other items from that room. That address, as you may recall, is the Holmby Hills Estate in which the King of Pop died in 2009.
Despite the clear celebrity connection, you won’t find a single mention of Michael Jackson’s name on the Julien’s Auctions announcement. That’s because, according to Katherine Jackson’s attorney Perry Sanders Jr., Jackson’s legal team has done “everything we can to ascertain that items from this address are not being auctioned using Michael’s name and likeness to enhance the items’ value.”
The auction will take place on Dec. 17. Luxurious antique furniture, Oriental rugs, and paintings from Henri Emilien Rousseau and Maurice Utrillo are among the less morbid items on the auction block. Would you ever bid on Michael Jackson’s deathbed?
