Almost a month ago we released sneak peeks of Leonardo DiCaprio in “J. Edgar,” one of the films most certainly being considered as an Oscar contender for the upcoming Awards Season race.
Well, now we know who’ll be among the first to see the film. Today’s announcement by the American Film Institute revealed that the 25th edition of its Los Angeles festival will welcome “J. Edgar” as its opening night film, a world premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theater certain to attract director Clint Eastwood, star Leonardo DiCaprio, and more than a handful of the film’s other cast mates (such as Naomi Watts, Dame Judi Dench, Josh Lucas, Dermot Mulroney and Armie Hammer), as well as the film’s writer, Oscar-winner for “Milk,” Dustin Lance Black.
The AFI Fest 2011 presented by Audi will take place in Hollywood from November 3-10. To keep up to date with the films being shown, and the festival’s schedule, check the official site at AFI.com/AFIFEST
