Michael Fassbender‘s gutsy performance in “Shame,” his reunion with director Steve McQueen (“Hunger”), was honored widely by the press and critics, and earned the recent star the Best Actor Award at the 2011 Venice Film Festival and a Golden Globe nomination.
While McQueen’s first feature landed Fassbender in the spotlight, that gig has also seen the actor knee-deep in projects that have included “X-Men: First Class,” “A Dangerous Method,” “Haywire,” “Jane Eyre,” and Ridley Scott’s upcoming “Prometheus,” in quick succession.
“Shame” pitted the actor opposite “An Education’s” Oscar-nominee Carey Mulligan, and the film’s tough handling of sensitive (and sensual) subject matter made its MPAA ratings adventures into headline news.
