The tragedy that took place on July 20 at the Century 16 Theater in Aurora, Colorado horrified and shocked the entire nation. Twelve people lost their lives and 58 others were wounded in a senseless attack during a midnight showing of the “Dark Knight Rises.”
Actor Christian Bale visited the wounded shortly after the shootings as victims and their families struggled to come to terms with what had happened. Now the city of Aurora is asking residents what should be done with the theater in the wake of this event. In an effort to come to a community consensus, the city has created an online survey for residents to offer their input as to what should be done with the Regal 16 site.
“As Aurora moves forward after the tragedy of July 20, it is our hope that the entire community will participate and benefit from the citywide healing process,” reads the official statement. “Many people have asked about the future of Aurora’s Century 16 theater. We want to know your thoughts. Please take a few minutes to tell us your thoughts. These comments will be shared with Cinemark for consideration in their decision making process.”
Tell us, what do you think should be done with the site?
