From the novel, “The Invention of Hugo Cabret” comes “Hugo,” Martin Scorsese’s first foray into 3D territory. Starring Sacha Baron Cohen, Emily Mortimer, Chloe Moretz (“KIck-Ass,” “Let Me In”), Sir Ben Kingsley, Michael Pitt, Jude Law and Johnny Depp, the film is part Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, part Polar Express and part Oliver Twist, the story of a boy without a father struggling to fend for himself and coming to terms with a robot left to him. And it all takes place inside a train station in 1930s Paris.
It’s not “Goodfellas” or “The Departed” but it looks pretty cool.
