TLC‘s surviving members are planning a tour and new album to help celebrate the group’s 20th anniversary. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas are also working on a TV movie series for VH1.
The announcement was made yesterday, which was also the 10th anniversary of third TLC member, Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes‘ death. To honour their late group member, T-Boz and Chilli announced they will be using digital image projections of Left-Eye during their tour performances — not unlike the infamous Tupac hologram.
“The word anniversary means a celebration. For us, her death will never be a celebration, it’s still something that hurts,” T-Boz said in a statement.
Chilli added: “Lisa is our sister. You never get over losing a family member. We love her and we miss her and that isn’t ever going to change.”
Reports say the tour will begin later this year. TLC will release new music after the TV movie premieres.
