The Spice Girl Musical Has Been Canceled
The musical based on music from the Spice Girls, “Viva Forever,” has been canceled. Members of the original girl group took to their Twitter accounts to share their reactions.
“I am totally gutted that our wonderful show @vivaforever is coming to an end,” Emma Bunton, also known as Baby Spice, wrote. “Thank you to all our amazing fans for your constant support!”
“We love u all @vivaforever @emmabunton @MelanieCmusic @OfficialMelB @victoriabeckham #what a shocka, gutted .x” Geri Halliwell, aka Ginger Spice, tweeted.
Meanwhile, Mel C, better known as Sporty Spice, wrote: “Absolutely devastated our wonderful show is closing. Thank you to our brilliant cast and everybody who made the show so incredible.”
“Viva Forever” opened last December and has been playing at London’s Piccadilly Theatre. The musical’s last performance will take place on June 29.
