Queen Latifah‘s eponymous talk show has had an excellent first week, beating the next-best competitor by some 50 percent. With a 1.5 Nielsen rating and 4 percent share of homes in that time slot in the 56 biggest markets, “Queen Latifah” is clearly resounding with viewers. The Hollywood Reporter calls the show’s ratings “very respectable” for a new talk show.
Queen Latifah’s largest viewership is in San Antonio, and she won the 9 a.m. time slot on WCBS in New York. That’s 57 percent better than the show airing in that time period last year in the Big Apple.
Do you think that Queen Latifah can find a foothold in the talk show market as Ellen DeGeneres has so artfully done?
