Whitney Houston fans will get to fondly remember her role in “The Bodyguard” when the musical adaptation of the iconic film opens at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End this November. The musical has been in the works for years, according to the Daily Mail; David Ian and Michael Harrison are set to produce, while Thea Sharrock will direct the production.

Playing Rachel Marron, Houston’s character in the film, is Heather Headley. She’ll take on all the songs featured in the flick — including “I Have Nothing,” “I Will Always Love You” and “Run to You” — as well as 12 additional Houston songs.

“The script has rewritten a bit and it’s very interesting,” wrote Headley on her Facebook page last October. “We’ll start on the West End in London and then we’ll move on to Broadway.”

Poor Whitney! Can you even believe that her hotel room that she died in is totally booked up and going for over $350/a night? Who would want to stay there? I wouldn’t. Anyway, nice post! I’d like to see this!

Oh my goodness. The woman JUST died not too long ago, and they’re already planning a musical. Well, in a sense it’s good because it’s almost like a memorial service in a way… a way to be remembered… however it always seems like a chance for these guys to cash in. I’m not sure what to think! Any thoughts anyone?
