“Game of Thrones,” “Homeland,” “Game Change,” “Hatfields & McCoys” and “Modern Family” were just some of the big winners at the annual Emmy Awards. “Game of Thrones” and “Homeland” took home six awards apiece, while “Game Change,” “Hatfields & McCoys” and “Modern Family” each received five awards.
“Modern Family” scored the high honor of Outstanding Comedy Series, as well as Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series nods for Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen.
When it came to drama, the Showtime series “Homeland” dominated categories like Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. The show’s first season proved to be a critical and ratings success, and the Emmys certainly took notice.
