The premiere for “THE POSSESSION” bled out on the red carpet last night. Starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan (“Watchmen”), Kyra Sedgwick (“The Closer”), Natasha Calis (“The Firm”) and Reggae big-wig Matisyahu, the film was produced by “Spiderman” and horror film royalty in Sam Raimi.

Cult classic “Evil Dead” is getting a do-over! “Juno” screenwriter (and Oscar-winner) Diablo Cody, is currently engaged on a rewrite of the next “Evil Dead” script. The original team of writer/director Sam Raimi (“Spiderman,” “A Simple Plan,” “Army of Darkness”) and actor Bruce Campbell will be producing the franchise resurrection with Fede Alvarez at the helm.
Of course, despite being “on the fast track,” the film won’t be in theaters until 2012 at the earliest. In the meantime there’s sure to be other beautiful youngsters in a remote cabin somewhere awaiting a gore-filled fate.
