This week’s video spotlight features the Venice Film Festival, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Madrid, behind the scenes with a nominee of the MTV VMAs as well as Bradley Cooper, Ben Barnes and Dennis Quaid talking their new movie “The Words,” hitting theaters this week.
Comedian Russell Brand has just inked a deal to host the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. Although this is his first time hosting this particular awards ceremony, he’s a veteran on the MTV stage: in 2008 and 2009, he hosted the Video Music Awards.
“This MTV Movie Awards will be more impressive than ‘The Avengers,’ and you won’t have to wait an hour for someone to Hulk out,” proclaimed Brand.
Jesse Ignjatovic, the executive producer of the MTV Movie Awards, said that Brand was chosen as host because “he brings the funny but he also has that rock ‘n’ roll aesthetic.”
The awards ceremony takes place on June 3. Do you plan on tuning in?
