Actress-turned-entrepreneur Jessica Alba flaunts her figure in the June 2012 issue of Marie Claire. Alba opened up to the magazine about her former sex symbol status and her newfound confidence.
“I had a show [Fox's 'Dark Angel'] that premiered when I was 19. And right away, everyone formed a strong opinion about me because of the way I was marketed,” she explained. “I was supposed to be sexy, this tough action girl. That’s what people expected. I felt like I was being objectified, and it made me uncomfortable. I wanted to be chic and elegant!
Alba admitted, though, that she’s grown into her beauty and learned to embrace it. “Now that I’m older, I’ve learned how to own it, but I’m still not very overt. There are some women who dress for men. I dress for myself. It took me some time to get here. Being a mom and feeling grown-up have helped. Now if I’m going to wear something short, it has to have a high neck or a little sci-fi toughness to it, an edge.”

British actress Felicity Jones looks like an angelic muse in this May editorial for Marie Claire. Jones wears creamy lace and crochet fashion from Dolce & Gabbana for the editorial, which is titled "La Dolce Vita."
Photographer Marcus Ohlsson, hair stylist Neil Moodie and makeup artist Pat McGrath combined creative forces to bring the ethereal aesthetic alive, opting to style Jones with bouncy curls, bombshell makeup and a perfect pink pout.

Zooey Deschanel has the May 2012 cover of Marie Claire, and in her accompanying interview, the “New Girl” actress divulged on her love life (or the lack thereof) and her desire to have children (ditto).
When asked whether she’s dating, Deschanel said, “Honestly, I’m just going through a divorce, so I don’t really think that’s something I want to get into now. I don’t have time to date. I literally — don’t-have-time.”
Don’t hold your breath waiting for Deschanel to announce a pregnancy, either. “That’s never been my focus,” she said of having children. “I like kids, and I like being around kids, but it was never an ambition, something, like, I need. I like working. That’s what I like doing. I like to work.”

“Gossip Girl” actress Leighton Meester revealed new details about her hardscrabble upbringing in the April 2012 issue of Marie Claire. Both of Meester’s parents have served time in jail; she even spent her first few months after birth in a halfway house before living with her grandmother.
Despite these troubles, you won’t hear Meester bash her childhood. “You can take what is handed to you and use it as an excuse to mess up,” she said. “But I’ve always handled what was given to me by life. I consider myself lucky. I was never lied to. And I was loved.”
She also shared a disconnect she felt while attending acting classes for kids in Los Angeles. “I couldn’t relate to kid stuff,” she explained. “‘Jimmy doesn’t like me!’ Who cares? I was worried we didn’t have gas money or food. Those were my concerns.”

Eva Mendes channels her inner Sophia Loren in the March 2012 issue of Marie Claire; in the accompanying interview, the “Girl in Progress” actress discussed her girl crushes, style secrets and diet.
Mendes is a perennial fixture on Hollywood hot lists, but the women she most admires — Annette Bening and Julianne Moore — are known more for their acting chops. “I have a girl crush on them,” she said. “I’d kill to have half the careers they’ve had after 40.”
And what of Mendes’ enviable figure? “I run four to five times a week, mixing it up among distance running, intervals on a track, and running uphill on a treadmill.”
