Strapless tops and dresses were definitely on trend this week, as were gowns with glitzy embellishments. Peep Celebs.com’s top 5 best-dressed celebs of the week to see who wore what and to where!

5. Julianne Hough

Actress Julianne Hough suited up in a super sexy Temperley London white blazer with matching trousers for the GQ Men of the Year Party held at the Chateau Marmont in LA on Tuesday. Paired with a statement red lip, gold Roger Vivier clutch and worn with absolutely nothing underneath, she was a sight to behold on the black carpet, that’s for sure!

4. Emma Stone

Emma Stone never ceases to amaze us with her wardrobe choices, so it was no surprise when she stepped out donning this gorgeous glittery green Burberry skirt and navy bustier peplum top for the 2012 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards in NYC on Tuesday. She accessorized her ensemble with Christian Louboutin heels and Jennifer Meyer jewelry.

3. Keira Knightley

Dressed to impress for the LA premiere of her latest film Anna Karenina on Wednesday, actress Keira Knightley no doubt wowed in a custom mint Erdem gown with floral embellishments. Diamond Chanel earrings, a pink pout and elegant twisted updo completed her striking look.

2. Karolina Kurkova

To say that supermodel Karolina Kurkova looked good at the PeaceEarth Foundation Fundraising Gala in London last weekend is a total understatement; she looked beyond glam! Karolina wore a stunning, grey chiffon Nicholas Oakwell gown with a metallic waistband and topped off her ensemble with a coordinating tube clutch, a bold red lip and retro-inspired updo.

1. Ashley Greene

Ashley Greene showed up for the NYC premiere of her newest movie Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 looking out of this world in a strapless navy corset dress by Donna Karan and jewelry by Martin Katz. She kept her hair sleek and straight and rocked a sultry smoky eye.

Riccardo Tisci Vogue Magazine

Vogue magazine profiled Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci for its March 2012 issue alongside five of his muses: Kanye West, Liv Tyler, Florence Welch, Liya Kebede and Karolina Kurkova. The editorial is titled “Tisci’s Time” and includes his memories of working with Jay-Z and West on their “Watch the Throne” album.

“I was a little bit scared,” said Tisci, “because I’m not an artist of graphic artist.” He described the creative process as “like a family giving opinions to each other, sharing — which is something that fashion is missing.”

Check out more photos of Tisci with his muses below, and be sure to check out cover model Adele‘s photo shoot for the mag here.

Celebs.com Weekly Fashion Trend Report: Head Over Heels for Headbands

7, 2012 1:15pm

By Allison Daniels

2011 saw a renewed interest in the fascinator, due in large part to America’s (bordering on unhealthy) obsession with a certain Duchess and her wedding. While the fascination with the fascinator (I couldn’t help it) has since died down, our penchant for placing pretty trinkets atop our heads has yet to disappear. So now we have turned, full of naive, expectant hope to…The Headband.

Awards season has just barely begun and already we’ve seen a multitude of tantalizing toppers. Check out the magnificent millinery on display from awards season so far! Above left: Michelle Williams paired a sweet, embellished headband with her Jason Wu frock, and Dianna Agron adds an earthy element to her digital-print Mary Katrantzou dress with a stone-and-wire headpiece.

Brie Larson attempts to rescue a look with a sparkly wraparound headband and Charlize Theron tops off her floaty Dior confection with a sparkly headpiece.

But don’t be fooled, stylish readers. The formal headwear trend does not belong only in a ballroom or on a red carpet. A fanciful headpiece looks just as lovely and on-trend when worn with a more casual look. Witness several lovely ladies proving my point.

Top Row: Karolina Kurkova; Busy Phillips channeling 60s mod in a minimalist silver headband, door-knocker earrings and knit dress. Bottom Row: Hippie chick Vanessa Hudgens rocks the double band with a simple cotton top and tribal necklace, and Nicole Richie masters the formal/casual look by pairing glammed-up accessories with a simple white t-shirt and bedroom eye makeup.

When it comes to accessorizing with headbands, the rules are anything but hard and fast. All you really have to do is choose one that suits your taste. Do that, and the odds are it will play well with much of your existing wardrobe.

A few notes on staying within the boundaries of good taste:

-Don’t pair a statement-making headband with equally loud jewelry. If all your accessories are competing, none of them can shine.

-Speaking of shine, if you choose a sparkly topper, go easy on the glimmer elsewhere. A few well-placed twinkles are fun and fanciful; more than that look like you’re playing dress-up.

Both of the above rules apply not only to apparel, but to makeup as well. Keep these rules in mind while modeling this cheeky trend and you’ll look perfectly fashion-forward.

Now that you’ve got the taste for these pretty, posh pieces, here are some of the loveliest I’ve seen.

Top Row: Deepa Gurnani Crystal Feather Headband ($38.00, cusp.com); Tasha Classic Bling Leather Headband ($38.00, nordstrom.com). Bottom Row: Jane Tran Sculpture Headband ($55.99, zappos.com); Eugenia Kim Daniella Sequined Headband ($99.00, shopbop.com).

Top Row: Charlotte Russe Seed Bead Metallic Headband ($7.50, charlotterusse.com); Topshop 2-pack Polka-Dot Headband ($15.00, topshop.com). Bottom Row: Juicy Couture Perforated Leather Headband ($40.00, juicycouture.com); Eugenia Kim Christy Headband ($91.99, was $121 , 6pm.com)
