Heidi Klum poses in the buff in the May 2012 issue of Allure magazine. In a revealing interview appropriate for “The Naked Truth,” the mag’s theme this month, the “Project Runway” host revealed the struggles she had as a young model.
“I was too curvy and too busty and a little too short, and I was a little bit self-conscious about it,” she admitted. “But I was by no means heavy. I just, well, you have hips and boobs, that that’s it. Haute couture, you don’t really see girls with big boobs. And I always wanted first to be a model. So I had to say, ‘OK, you’re going to find other things to do in this industry, or maybe it’s not my industry.”
With nearly 20 years in the modeling industry, it’s clear that Heidi Klum carved out a niche. Check out more photos of Klum in Allure below. …Read More
Move over, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Heidi Klum: TIME has just named Gisele Bundchen the No. 1 model on its list of All-Time 100 Fashion Icons.
Bundchen first attained global popularity when she became a Victoria’s Secret Angel. She’s been the highest-paid supermodel since 2004, and her net worth could surpass $1 billion by this summer. Before she became Mrs. Tom Brady, Bundchen was romantically linked with Leonardo DiCaprio, which has no doubt bolstered her notoriety.
Three notable names didn’t make the TIME list of fashion icons: Christy Turlington, Janice Dickinson and Tyra Banks. All three women pioneered the supermodel concept, so it’s surprising that TIME declined to include them in the list. Read the complete list here.
Heidi Klum is on the cover of the April 2012 issue of Elle, and in her accompanying interview, the supermodel and “Project Runway” host opened up about her split with husband Seal.
“I feel like I’m in the eye of the tornado,” she admitted. It’s emotions inside of your body that are a tornado. And then the outside world doing all this craziness — with you wanting it or not wanting it — is another tornado. But as hard as it is, so is life.”
Klum also said that she doesn’t want to go into detail about her relationship with the press, explaining, “I don’t think it’s necessary — especially for our children — to have the lows being printed in magazines and talked about.”
