At the 2012 Palm Springs International Film Festival, Celebs.com’s own Angela Bakke interviewed Jeff Goldblum, and the “Jurassic Park” actor recounted a story about Glenn Close — to whom he presented the Career Achievement Award at the gala — in which he first recognized Glenn Close’s talent.
While headed to the set of 1983′s “The Big Chill,” Goldblum and Close were seated next to each other on the plane. The two got to talking:
She was talking about this life experience, and she suddenly became emotional. She got teary, and a tear went down her cheek, and she said, “I’m sorry, I was just [thinking] about something,” and she did it in such a way that I got moved, I got a little weepy myself, inexplicably.
Around all of that, I thought to myself, “This is a person that’s so deep and interesting, and what a sweet, warm, gracious, classy but down-to-earth, authentic, soulful person this is. And as long as she’s in this movie, this could be something good to be hooked up with, and I’ll bet over the years, I might see her do acting that is uncommonly deep and gorgeous.”
Of course, his prediction came true. Check out Jeff Goldblum’s full interview with Celebs.com here.
