Rachel McAdams shares juicy tidbits about her life, including her less-than-glamorous McDonald’s job, in the February 2012 issue of Glamour.
Before she got into acting, McAdams worked at a Toronto McDonald’s for three years alongside her brother and sister. “It was a great place to work,” she admitted, “but I had a little bit of an OCD thing with hand washing and just didn’t have time. They were like, ‘Hey, the drive-through’s backing up. Stop washing your hands!’ I was not a great employee; I broke the orange juice machine one day.”
Although McAdams has dated a few of her costars, she told Glamour that they all came after filming wrapped, because “you wind up actually spending a lot of time with those people promoting the movie.”
When asked about her dream costar, McAdams replied, “It’s an embarrassment of riches. I love Owen [Wilson] in ‘Midnight in Paris.’ He’s so endearing, and it was a completely different kind of relationship than the one we had in ‘Wedding Crashers.’” Check out more photos from McAdams’ shoot with Glamour below.
WWD publishes an annual list of the best- and worst-selling celeb magazine covers in the U.S., and it looks like we’ll be seeing more of Mila Kunis, Jennifer Aniston and Heidi Klum in 2012 and a lot less of Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber.
Kunis’ covers for Cosmo, Elle and W led to above-average sales, while her GQ cover was the magazine’s best-selling issue of the year. Other celebrities whose covers performed well at newsstands include Sarah Jessica Parker and Lady Gaga — so long as she’s wearing plenty of makeup. (The Harper’s Bazaar issue that featured a makeup-free Gaga tanked, according to Fashionista.)
Perhaps the most compelling tale of celeb magazine cover sales belongs to Kim Kardashian. Her magazine covers for the February issue of Glamour and the August issue of Cosmo were the best-selling issues of the year for those magazines. After her short-lived marriage and the subsequent Kardashian backlash, however, come reports that her January 2012 Glamour cover will have below-average sales.
Jennifer Lopez is the cover model of the Glamour December 2011 issue, and the 42-year-old accented her sailor-enspired ensemble with a ravishing red bustier by Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony.
In the accompanying interview, J. Lo talked about her personal style and her upcoming fashion collection for Kohl’s. Unsurprisingly, relationships also came up. “I think I’ve finally learned the biggest lesson of all,” Lopez admitted. “You’ve got to love yourself first. You’ve got to be okay on your own before you can be okay with somebody else. You’ve got to value yourself and know that you’re worth everything. And until you value yourself enough and love yourself enough to know that, you can’t really have a healthy relationship.”
Glamour shared additional photos from the cover shoot on the mag’s Facebook page; check them out in the gallery below. The full interview will be on the Glamour website Monday.
