From vibrant pinks to show stopping yellow, this week was all about electric shocks of color and perky, eye-popping pouts. Check out Celebs.com’s top 5 best-dressed celebs of the week for all the fashion and beauty details.

5. Emma Stone

Dolled up in a cream colored J. Mendel frock paired with Jack Vartanian jewels and Christian Louboutin platform heels, adorable actress Emma Stone is the picture of elegance at the National Board of Review Film Awards Gala held in NYC on Tuesday. She tops off her look with a radiant smile and bright red lips.

4. Lea Michele

Looking absolutely flawless in a white fringe Marchesa gown, Jimmy Choo shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels, Glee star Lea Michele owns the night at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards. We love how the actress keeps her hair simple and rocks a neon pink pout.

3. Ginnifer Goodwin

At the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday, actress Ginnifer Goodwin makes a bold, bright statement as she steps out in a neon pink Roksanda Ilinicic bell sleeved dress. She pairs her hot frock with Jimmy Choo shoes, a black Kzeniya clutch to match and jewelry by Van Cleef & Arpels. We totally heart her simple updo and barely-there makeup.

2. Jennifer Hudson

A bombshell in yellow, actress, author and recording artist Jennifer Hudson shows off her (not so newly) slim bod as she celebrates her Good Housekeeping cover in NYC on Tuesday. Jennifer wears a mustard colored Roland Mouret dress paired with platform heels and a rockin red pout.

1. Miranda Kerr

When doesn’t this supermodel look fab? Donning a red arabesque, cap-sleeve Georges Chakra Couture dress, Miranda Kerr celebrates her new title as ambassador for Qantas Airways at their Spirit of Australia Party at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on Thursday. She finishes off her look with gold peep-toe shoes by Alexandre Birman, makeup by Christy Coleman and earrings by Tresor.

Celebs.com Weekly Fashion Trend Report: Add Pep(lum) to Your Step

The bandage dress. The statement necklace. The leather jacket. These are all game-changing wardrobe pieces. There’s a trend on the horizon this coming spring that may not get quite as much press as these items, but it makes a statement every bit as bold.

A peplum is simply a short overskirt or ruffle attached to an otherwise fitted garment. It can be separate from a jacket or skirt, or sewn onto one. It can be fitted or exaggerated. The first appearance of the peplum in fashion occurred in the 19th century. It fell out of favor for a few decades, being then re-popularized in the 1940s and again in the 1980s.

Now, approaching the 20-teen years, the fashion world has taken a new shine to the peplum, giving it airtime on some of spring’s hottest runways and Hollywood’s most stylish stars. The peplum we’re seeing lately is most often the exaggerated version. The fitted version isn’t quite daring enough for the current sartorial climate.

And, of course, our celebrity peplum style-setters:

As you can see, the peplums in season right now are anything but understated. However, they are still surprisingly versatile. Wear a light printed peplum blouse for day, and a striking pencil peplum dress for a holiday party.

Another important point to note: contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to be a stick figure to rock embellishments at the hip! The key to making the peplum look flattering is to highlight the waist. The exaggerated peplum makes the waist look even smaller by increasing the visual contrast between the flare at the hip and the cinched waist.

Both the Cushnie et Ochs and the Giambattista Valli peplums are less than flattering. This is because the peplum has extra volume (like there’s tissue paper stuffed inside), and the under-skirt hangs straight, instead of having a fitted, tapered line.

If you don’t have Victoria Beckham’s figure (and, really, who does?) aim for peplums that are streamlined, and pair with an ensemble that is impeccably tailored. Finish it off with sky-high heels (they add sex appeal and confidence to any ensemble).

Here are a few great peplum pieces to wear this winter and spring. Find your favorite, and get peppy!

Celebs.com Presents the Week’s Five Best-Dressed Celebs (Zoe Saldana, Sofia Vergara, Gywneth Paltrow…)

We don’t know about you, but this week definitely had us feeling green with envy. From gorgeous green Elie Saab sparkling gowns to strapless, hip-hugging, sequin stunners, we present to you Celebs.com’s top five best-dressed celebs of the week for 11/11/11. Happy Veterans Day, y’all!

5. Zoe Saldana

All that glitters is green, literally! Actress Zoe Saldana took to the (also green) carpet at last night’s Latin Grammys in Las Vegas sporting a shimmering, all-over sequin gown from designer Elie Saab’s Spring 2012 collection. Wearing a glowing smile on her face and with flawless locks, we think this look suits Zoe very nicely.

4. Sofia Vergara

Also at the Latin Grammys, Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara stole the spotlight in a sparkly, strapless, silver and white Reem Acra embellished gown. The actress paired her dazzling dress with matching jewelry from her very own recently launched Kmart collection! Hey, we can’t hate on that—stylish AND savvy.

3. Emma Stone

At the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in NYC on Monday, actress Emma Stone stunned in head to toe Lanvin. We love the golden green color of Emma’s Grecian gown against her complexion, and that gorgeous multi-chain necklace she’s sporting just tops it all off. We think she looks just like a goddess, don’t you?

2. Lea Michele

Also at the Glamour Awards, Glee gal Lea Michele upstaged her competition in a show-stopping, shimmery dress by Jenny Packham. Simple jewelry from Tiffany & Co. and a bold red pout complement her breathtaking, red carpet gown.

1. Gwyneth Paltrow

Glitzy in green, actress Gwyneth Paltrow glammed it up for the Bambi Awards in Germany donning a sequin Elie Saab gown with a plunging neckline the same night as Zoe! Luckily the two however were not at the same event, but we think green just might be the new star color trend of the season.

Elizabeth Hurley Would Totally Marry Blake Lively, and 5 Other Celebrity Girl Crushes (PHOTO GALLERY)

25, 2011 7:00am

Celebrity girl crushes are all the rage; most recently, actress Elizabeth Hurley told OK Magazine that she would marry “Gossip Girl” Blake Lively “in a heartbeat, if I had a sex change,” adding that Lively is “absolutely perfect in every way.”

Hurley isn’t the only female celebrity to ‘fess up to admiring another famous femme. The following women have all openly named the same-sex celeb for whom they’d switch teams.

1. Emma Stone and Christina Hendricks: In the August 2011 issue of The Advocate, Stone admitted that her girl crush is on the curvaceous Christina Hendricks. “It’s a no-brainer,” she explained. “Everything about her does it for me. That’s my kind of woman.”

2. Cheryl Cole and Rihanna (and Rihanna and Cheryl Cole): While answering questions from fans on Twitter, Cola admitted that her girl crush is on Rihanna. Her affection isn’t unrequited: in the past, the “S&M” singer has called Cole “the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.”

3. Sofia Vergara and Halle Berry: Although Sofia Vergara has the kind of face and figure that many would call “perfection,” that’s the exact sentiment she used to describe her girl crush Halle Berry. “Every time I see her, I want to give her a standing ovation because she’s so flawless,” she added.

4. Kim Kardashian and Megan Fox: This celebrity girl crush is a few years old, but since both bombshells are still household names, it’s no less relevant. At the red carpet premiere of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” Kim (who was with Reggie Bush at the time) gushed, “Megan Fox is so hot. She is like my girl crush, and I don’t have girl crushes.”

5. Megan Fox and Olivia Wilde: Our final selection is perhaps the most effusive of all. In 2009, Fox said of the “TRON: Legacy” actress, “Olivia Wilde is so sexy she makes me want to strangle a mountain ox with my bare hands.”

Jim Carrey’s Bizarre Love Letter to Emma Stone

25, 2011 8:37am

Well, this is awkward.

In a goofy and slightly uncomfortable video, Jim Carrey proclaims his love for The Help superstar Emma Stone.

The rubber-faced comedian says, “If I were a lot younger, I would marry you, and we would have chubby little freckled faced kids. We’d laugh all day long and go camping and play Yahtzee and tell ghost stories by the fire. And the sex?”

What do you think? Creepy? Charming? Downright weird?
