‘Modern Family’ Stars Begin Massive Salary Negotiations

Modern Family cast

The stars of “Modern Family” have begun their salary negotiations with ABC. Will they follow in the “Friends” cast’s footsteps, who earned $1 million per episode during their final season?

Not quite, according to an ABC insider, who says that the actors have banded together — that includes Sofia Vergara, Ed O’Neill, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet — to ask for around $200,000 per episode. This would more than double most of the actors’ per-episode earnings — only O’Neill is currently paid in the six-figure range.

“They realize there’s strength in numbers and it’s the best way to go about it,” the source told E! Online. The insider also said that any salary increases would come from ABC rather than 20th Century Fox.

Do you think the “Modern Family” castmembers will get the raise they’re looking for?
