Flo Rida is on a mission to help you fit into those “Apple Bottom Jeans.” The ripped rapper with a physique to rival many announced plans to release a workout DVD.
Although computer-generated imagery can give even ordinary folks superhuman physiques, Henry Cavill revealed in the December 2011 issue of Men’s Health that he wanted to actually have a Superman-worthy body to play the titular role in “Man of Steel.”
“I had a big sense of pride,” he said. “I was like, ‘No shading. I don’t want you to draw abs on me. I don’t want you to put dirt in the right places. I just want to do it myself. I want to have the body.’”
Naturally, Men’s Health published the Henry Cavill workout on its website; the grueling routine was designed by Mark Twight of Salt Lake City’s Gym Jones. (Twight also trained the cast of “300,” and is infamous for his 100-rep “tailpipe” routines.)
Cavill seems to have enjoyed getting in shape for “The Immortals” and “Man of Steel,” musing, “Maybe we were built to stress and challenge ourselves physically, emotionally and psychologically, and all the rest of it. Maybe that’s why we survived physically as a race — we evolved so it becomes fun.”
