Holy schmokes! Anthony Hopkins looks freakin' awesome as Alfred Hitchcock (same initials... coincidence?). Check out the sneak peek of images released by the studio. And yes, the sexy Helen Mirren is in them also.
Scarlett Johansson and James D’Arcy have signed on for “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho,” joining a cast that already includes Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren.
Johansson will play Janet Leigh, the star of the 1960 film, while D’Arcy will portray Anthony Perkins, who originally played the creepy Norman Bates. Hopkins and Mirren will play Alfred Hitchcock and his wife.
“Making of Psycho” will detail Hitchcock’s challenges while filming “Psycho,” according to Variety, and the film’s behind-the-scenes approach has already drawn comparisons to “My Week With Marilyn.” Sacha Gervasi will direct the movie, while Thom Thayer and Montecito Picture Company’s Ivan Reitman, Tom Pollack and Joe Medjuck will produce it.
Sir Anthony Hopkins has been cast as Alfred Hitchcock in the upcoming biopic “Alfred Hitchcock & the Making of Psycho.” Sasha Gervasi will direct the flick, which is a film adaptation of the book by Stephen Rebello.
The film focuses on Hitchcock’s life during the 1950s, while he was making “Psycho.” Helen Mirren is rumored to be among the actresses in the running to play Alma Reville, Hitchcock’s wife.
Hopkins’ lengthy film career includes many roles as real-life figures, including Ernest Hemingway, Charles Dickens, Pablo Picasso, Richard Nixon and David Lloyd George.
