Stella McCartney Teams Up With PETA for Anti-Leather Ad

Stella McCartney

Fashion designer Stella McCartney has never used animal skin in her collections, and she teamed up with PETA for an anti-leather ad ahead of New York Fashion Week to hopefully inspire other designers to similarly shun the leather trade.

“If you’re like me, you’ve sworn off fur because you know about the gruesome ways animals suffer and die for fur fashions,” McCartney says in the ad, which appears below. “And what about leather? That’s something people don’t think about as much. Anyone who cares about animals or the environment should become informed consumers on this issue.”

If you’d like to go leather-free, head to PETA to sign Stella McCartney’s pledge. Do you think leather will ever be a fashion faux pas?
