Sofia Vergara is teaming up with boxer Oscar de la Hoya to launch SuperVida, a health website targeted at Hispanic families, in 2012. After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer, Vergara was inspired to create an online resource for health issues that affect Hispanics.
“There are 50 million Hispanics in this country and there is not a resource like this and we need it,” said Vergara. “It is going to be revolutionary to better and save lives.”
SuperVida.com won’t be the “Modern Family” star’s first philanthropic venture. On November 17, she will co-chair the 5th anniversary of BeLive, a fundraising event for the Colombian nonprofits Give to Colombia, the Genesis Foundation, Formula Sonrisas and the ArtNexus Foundation.
