Fox has renewed “Sleepy Hollow” for a second season. As its first major hit of the fall season, the network has given the series an early pick-up for the 2014-15 season.
The first season of “Sleepy Hollow” began airing last month for a 13 episode run. Instead of getting the usual back-nine order, the series will return next year with another 13 episodes.
“Sleepy Hollow” is a one-hour fantastical drama that centers around main character Ichabod Crane, who is transported to Westchester County, New York.
“The show has proven to be a risk well worth taking — it’s a conceptual blast unlike anything else on television and it all holds together with inventive writing and a fantastic cast,” Fox Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly said. “I can’t wait for fans to experience what else is in store for this fall and even more of this wild ride into season two.”
“Sleepy Hollow” marks Fox’s high-rated debut drama in six seasons. The series premiere received a 3.5 rating among adults aged 18 to 49, and 10.1 million viewers. The second episode managed to keep up, losing just 11% in viewers.
“Sleepy Hollow” airs Mondays at 9pm ET on Fox.
