Simon Cowell‘s Syco production company is set to create a cooking show for ITV in conjunction with Optomen, the firm that brought us “Kitchen Nightmares” with Gordon Ramsay. The show will be called “Food, Glorious Food!” and will focus on the search for the best recipe in Britain by an amateur chef.
“Every recipe tells a story,” teases the show’s website. “And every family has a special recipe that tugs at your heart strings, makes you smile, brings back memories and sums up all that’s great about food. Now it’s time to share that dish with the nation!”
“Food, Glorious Food!” doesn’t have a host yet, but once one is signed, production will start in July for a February debut. The Hollywood Reporter notes that the show’s winner will win £20,000 and have his or her recipe carried at Marks & Spencer.
