Poor ole Shelley Long. Many years ago, she quit her fancypants award-winning role as Diane Chambers on Cheers to pursue a career on the silver screen. We can only speculate that Long was reflecting on Outrageous Fortune, Troop Beverly Hills and other post-Cheers dog biscuits when she gobbled a fistful of pain pills on November 16th.
Long is reportedly upset over the dissolution of her 22-year marriage, and overdosed on pills last week, a move that landed her in the hospital overnight. The actress is back home again, and her manager is claiming she simply "took one pain pill too many to combat a severe back ache." A really, really, really, really, REALLY severe back ache.
