Mark Wahlberg, Christina Aguilera, Sylvester Stallone and now Sharon Stone have been dealing in the property markets this week, Stone putting her twenty-year old, gated Mediterranean-style compound on the market today for a shade under $9 million (a figure for which the property was previously listed in 2009).
What can you check off your shopping list if you decide to drop some dough on the place?
“Five acres of pathways, bridges, waterfalls, fruit trees, a mediation garden, a [lagoon-style] swimming pool and a tennis court with viewing pavilion,” says the LA Times‘s Lauren Beale. The 5BR, 6,000 sq.ft. house on N. Beverly Drive features a library with a fireplace, a master bedroom with a fireplace, and a couple other fireplaces also. No doubt that means there’s at least one poker, but we’re sure she’ll throw in an ice-pick if you ask nicely.
Even the 2BR guest house has its own media room and a gym.
To top things off, there’s room to park 14 cars under cover, or to park one car in 14 different covered locations.
In keeping with current property trends, the listing is a substantial $2 million below what Stone paid for the property back in 2006. Zillow.com estimates that, if you picked up the property for $7.65 million and put down 10% equity on a 30 year fixed loan at just under 4%, monthly mortgage payments would be a cool $40,000. Y’know, just in case you were wondering.
Oh, and the worst news? Rumor has it that Stone never moved into the place.
