Selena Gomez stars alongside Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine in “Spring Breakers,” which served as many of the stars’ first spring break experiences. The movie was filmed during an actual spring break, chronicling many of the real-life events that occur when college students get a week off.
While “Spring Breakers” includes a sex scene involving Benson, Hudgens and James Franco, it was the real-life partying that left a lasting impression with these actresses.
“That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever experienced,” Gomez told MTV. “I know we’ve never been on spring break, so I’ve never actually been to motel parties where you hop to each room. That’s what this was.”
“We would literally be doing takes, and we were surrounded by real spring breakers,” Benson added. “We were kind of thrown into this whole thing and just — I’ve never seen anything like it. Literally, girls would be making out and their clothes would come off, and I was like, ‘Oh god, the bottoms!’ And then they’d come off. [I was thinking], I don’t even know what I’m doing here.”
According to the actresses, these scenes featured real-life spring breakers who had no problem with showing-off their antics on the big screen.
“Totally willingly by these girls,” said Rachel Korine, who happens to be the wife of “Spring Breakers” director, Harmony Korine. “No one asked them to do it. You get to see us in the scenes react naturally to our environment because we didn’t know what was about to happen.”
“Spring Breakers” has already been released in New York and Los Angeles. It will hit theatres nationwide on March 22.
