Scarlett Johansson, Matt Damon, Thomas Haden Church, Elle Fanning, Patrick Fugit and director Cameron Crowe ["Almost Famous," "Jerry Maguire"] all rocked the red carpet for the NY premiere of 20th Century Fox’s “We Bought a Zoo.”
Coming out on December 23, 2011, the film received some unlikely attention a couple of months ago when a private zoo owner in the US freed all his animals and took his own life.
Based on the book by Benjamin Mee, whom Matt Damon portrays in the film, the story follows a young father and his children who buy and attempt to restore a small private zoo in Southern California (the original zoo on which the story is based, we’re led to believe, was in Devonshire in the United Kingdom).
Quick note: The music in the film is also worth paying attention to, it’s composed by Jonsi, the guitarist and vocalist of Icelandic band Sigur Ros.
