This past weekend, Whitney Houston kicked off her tour in Australia with a performance that left everyone breathless. By “everyone” we mean “Whitney’. Literally. We’re not saying Whit’s smoking golf balls again, but you could open up her lungs and scrape enough rocks out to string a necklace. The Daily Mail says:
The American star struggled through the opening night of her tour and was left breathless and exhausted after just two songs.
And even more bizarrely, the 46-year-old took a 20 minute break to catch her breath mid-way through the show, [leaving] the stage for twenty minutes [while] her brother Gary Houston [sang] in her absence.
“The singer appeared disoriented,” wrote the Australian Associated Press, “but the final act faltered at the finale when she croaked her way through I Will Always Love You, pausing to get a drink and towel herself down just as she was about to hit the song’s epic high note, which she turned into a soft coo.”
Hey, we’ve all got our demons, but we have to wonder why the person who possesses arguably the best singing voice of a generation would choose smoking crack as her vice of choice. That would be like a supermodel doing meth. Or Pedro Martinez injecting heroin into his pitching arm. Or the world’s greatest sticker collector huffing computer cleaner directly into her sticker zone.

so very sad. why is it always the the talented ones to F up their S. Why Houston and Whinehouse and not Fergie and Gaga. Stupid, Fergie, giving up her meth bf.
This is very sad. I do think her voice is shot for good due to her years of drug usage. She will never have the voice we remember. If she wanted to tour she should have done a bit of lip syncing and had strong back up singers instead of trying to deliver like the Whitney in her heyday. I heard she is smoking cigarettes as well. Bad, bad choice.
