The sitcom is about a fast-food employee who wants to be a super hero. “Grint will play the title role of Clyde, the well-meaning and sweet yet slightly neurotic guy who never feels like he really fits in,” reports The Hollywood Reporter. “The avid coming book reader considers himself a borderline agoraphobic with mild to severe anxiety issues who wishes he were a super hero himself.”
The catch of the story is that Clyde is actually quite rich, inheriting $100,00o a month from a deceased uncle. He decides to use this money has his super power by rewarding people who deserve it.
“Super Clyde” comes from Greg Garcia, the man behind “Raising Hope.” He is going to also write and serve as executive producer on the new sitcom. Mike Fresco, also of “Raising Hope,” will direct the pilot.
If “Super Clyde” makes it passed the pilot, the show would mark Grint’s first role as a television regular.
