Roseanne Barr is coming back to the small screen. The actress has just inked a deal with NBC to develop and star in a new sitcom.
The new deal includes bringing on producer of Barr’s reality series “Roseanne’s Nuts,” Steven Greener. The series centred around Barr’s macadamia nut farm in Hawaii and aired for 16 episodes in 2011 on Lifetime.
Barr and NBC attempted to work together last pilot season with a show called “Downwardly Mobile,” which was about the owner of a mobile home park who also served as a surrogate mother to the characters who lived there. The show also starred Barr’s former onscreen husband John Goodman.
This time around, it seems NBC is hoping to create some buzz about Barr’s return to television. They have cast her in as a three-episode guest star on “The Office.” She will be playing a talent agent who will be helping Andy Bernard (played by Ed Helms) become a star.
