Rooney Mara is on the cover of this week’s edition of Entertainment Weekly as Lisbeth Salander of “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” and in the accompanying Q&A, the in-demand actress talked about her work ethic, family and regrets.
Like many actors, Mara is rarely content when she sees herself on film. “I’m really hard on myself,” she said. “You always look back and wish you’d done things differently. You see every little thing that other people don’t notice.”
Mara also talked about her relationship with director David Fincher, who described her as a weirdo. “David works harder than anyone I’ve ever met,” she said. “I think that’s one of the reasons he liked me, is because I’m a really hard worker. He surrounds himself with people who want to work as hard as he does.”
