The January 2012 issue of Allure magazine features the flawless face of Rooney Mara, and in her interview with the glossy, the actress discussed the physical transformation she underwent for “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.” Mara got her eyebrow and right nipple pierced — which she said “was actually not that painful” — and even shaved off her long locks to play Lisbeth Salander.
Mara revealed that because there may be sequels to “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” she’s leaving her nipple piercing in; however, she’s removed her facial piercings. “It’s not something I ever want to get repierced, so I’m going to keep it in,” she explained.
“America’s Next Top Model” would have most of us believe that head-shaving is a traumatic experience, but Rooney Mara told Allure that it was no big deal. “It didn’t freak me out at all,” she said. “I was really happy to do it.”
