“We’re contemplating a show that is sort of a talent show, but it involves the whole family,” Reeg told Page Six. “A family competition, which is something new in our business. It’s going to be on prime time when it happens.”
Chances are the upcoming venture will be produced by RAF Productions, which Philbin formed with Cort Cassidy, Edward Walson and Barry Glazer. Philbin has also been approached to create a variety show with Michael Manshel, the producer of “Gangland.”
Regis Philbin was also quick to note that his departure from ABC wasn’t a retirement, but an exit for business reasons. “It wasn’t that ABC didn’t try to negotiate with me,” he explained. “As it happens in this business, sometimes you don’t really like the terms so you just walk away with that in mind.”
