Losing baby weight is tough for every mom, and in the latest issue of Fitness magazine, Rebecca Romijn called it “the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.” Part of the trouble is that all the fitness and diet tricks she’d successfully used before motherhood didn’t work. “I had to find a completely different way to challenge my body,” she explained.
What worked for Romijn was Bikram yoga and a strict diet that eliminated red meat, alcohol, dairy, fat, starch and sugar. “I had never been on [a diet] in my life, and suddenly I was counting calories and measuring my food,” she explained. “Cutting out sugar was definitely the hardest. The first week I thought I was going to die. The cravings were bad. But after that, it was easy.”
