“Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all the speculation to rest, after 12 years of judging on ‘American Idol’ I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” Jackson told E! News. “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”
In light of the show’s low ratings this season, rumors have been swirling that the producers of the singing competition are looking to do an entire revamp with four brand new judges next season. Harry Connick Jr. recently revealed that he has been approached by the show to join the judges’ panel for season 13.
Earlier today, we reported that Jackson will no longer be managing his fellow “Idol” judge, Mariah Carey.
