Weisz describes her role by saying, “[Jason Bourne is] in the periphery of the story, but it’s about a new military program and I am thrown together with Jeremy Renner’s character by circumstance, because, well, we need each other.”
Now that she’s a mother, Weisz admits she doesn’t choose her roles lightly, even if she does try to take them a little more lightly: “I want to always feel like it’s a stretch and that I’m not quite sure I can pull it off. And I think that is truly the right reaction… I used to get really affected by my work, but when you have a kid, you have to come home and be there mentally. When the director says ‘cut,’ it’s all make-believe, and strangely enough, that took me a little bit of time to work out.”
